The Toastmasters and Masters of Ceremonies Federation is one of the

oldest Toastmaster Organisations in the UK.

In 1953 a small group of 'Masters of Ceremonies' met to discuss the idea of banding together to form a Professional Body, with the intention of improving the status and training of their chosen calling. From that small acorn the 'Fed' or 'Friendly Fed', as it soon affectionately became known, was born.

Other established Toastmasters were soon applying to join and provided they could pass the examinations and prove they were of the appropriate standard, they were invited to become members. Many highly respected Toastmasters have passed through our ranks since and long may the original idea be upheld.

We are proud of our humble beginning, the 'Fed' providing a role model for those similar organisations that were to follow.
