The Council was founded in 1981 to provide a forum for member organisations to meet regularly to exchange information, discuss matters of protocol and professional standards and to create goodwill and understanding between all Toastmasters and Masters of Ceremonies.

With over 250 Toastmasters and Masters of Ceremonies in the member organisations, the Council has a persuasive influence for good professional standards of Toastmasters and Masters of Ceremonies.

The Council provides Public Liability Insurance of £5,000,000 for Toastmasters and Masters of Ceremonies of its member organisations.
